koinobori

May 2, 2009

I went to see carp banners (koinobori) today. The carp banners paint a lovely painting against the backdrop of the sky, and the mixture of colors lovingly mimics the kakigoori I ate, as well. But it’s the rustling sounds the carps make as they fly together that I like the most.

Rustling noises tend to belong to the category of All Things Nice, do they not? The sound of a small woodland animal rummaging through the forest, the swish-swish noises of a ruffly skirt…

bangkok, kunming, hong kong, macau

March 11, 2009

The big trip has finally come to an end. I’m still attempting to recover from my night spent at the Hong Kong airport, and I am still trying to unpack. Each encounter with packing and unpacking always leads to lots of cleaning and moving things around and a flurry of awkward and repetitive movements. Hence, I tripped flat on my face on two sets of stairs in a span of two days.

Much thanks to Sophie for letting me stay with her in Kunming and showing me around. It was a great trip, and my belly is full from all the lovely sights I was able to see.

I met a tanuki for the first time a few weeks ago. I love tanuki. One of them scurried towards us and proceeded to stare at us with curious eyes for several minutes.

The Finished Comic and a Bread Loaf

December 7, 2008

The Sinister Winter and the Inflatable Suit (my comic) is up on my website!

The JLPT went okay. I am not sure how did. I read the reading portions too carefully and ran out of time at the end. I know I am supposed to skim, but I gave in to my natural tendencies towards reading and re-reading.

Anyway, let’s move on to more interesting things. After making some bread yesterday evening, I noticed that the bread loaf beared a strong resemblance to カピバラさん. It’s too bad I gave into my natural tendency towards overeating because the bread loaf/カピバラさん completely vanished in only a span of three hours.
